The term “1% CRI Award” refers to the elite recognition tier from the Consumer Ratings Institute (CRI). This highly competitive, merit-based program
identifies local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that perform in the top 1% of customer satisfaction within their respective regional markets and industries
Core Rating Methodology
Unlike traditional “pay-to-play” accolades, a business cannot buy its way onto the list. The Consumer Ratings Institute aggregates and analyzes public consumer data via a multi-platform algorithmic approach:
- The Registry Baseline: To even be cataloged in the overarching CRI Business Index, a business must possess a raw Google rating of 4.4★ or higher alongside a minimum of 25 verified consumer reviews.
- The Award Filter: To escalate to the “1% Award” tier, businesses undergo deep-dive data vetting. The CRI algorithm analyzes a four-platform review stack consisting of Google, Yelp, Trustpilot, and TripAdvisor.
- Key Metrics: Beyond a high raw rating, selection relies heavily on consistent review velocity, consumer response patterns, and sustained transactional longevity.
